As an artist working across various mediums, including abstract paintings and prints, my wall installation “Frottages and Fiction” is an ongoing ever-changing work. It is pictorial space built from an evolving register of gestures, marks, writing, colors and forms. The entanglement of writing and painting materialize a meditative autonomy, spontaneity, and freedom with an inner logic. Originating during Covid, this work is fueled by ritual, handwritten words and painted marks, wellness, the quotidian, and the blur between art and life. The agency of the artist as author, performer and improviser manifests in framing and elevating provisional moments; overlaps, fragments, layers, and combines suggesting a vital circulation and aliveness in the process of making and display. Through personal writing, texts about art and spirituality, the installation wills itself into being. A tribute to making and becoming.
