Treya Yano

Treya Yano is an illustrator and artist based in Los Angeles, CA. Her work often explores identity and reciprocity with nature through both digital and analog mediums. Her background in architecture inspires keystones of spatial, experiential, and textural qualities in which she both aims her artistic expressions and uses to connect with the world around her.

Her current studies forage natural elements into abstract sculpture-like figures. Through digital sketches and oil paintings she explores what it means to find pathways of weaving, braiding, and knotting in these unlikely subjects. Patterns slowly emerge and start to tell stories. At a zoomed in scale are moments of unique connection; at a zoomed out scale are landscapes of reimagined identity.
