Melanie Newcombe

Born an artist on 10/19, I am enamored by the number synchronicity of my 1019 West Art Studio. I grew up in Minnesota and moved to California when I was 22. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art and furthered my education with post graduate sculpture courses at Art Center in Pasadena. My time at Art Center evolved into a mentorship with my sculpture professor several years before I officially launched my art career in Inglewood in 2013. My art has ranged in media, content and form as I see no limits to what may inspire me. Primarily known for my industrial metal mesh sewn life size nudes, I have focused in recent years more upon drawings. I have an extensive exhibition record and collector catalog. As a participant in Inglewood Open Studios for eight years I look forward to unveiling a whole new body of work for 2024!
