KAREN SOCHAR

Karen Sochar, ceramic sculptor enjoys creating ceramic sculptures that sometimes incorporate the human figure with a surreal, sensual and even an erotic sensibility. Karen spent 18 years in oil and gas and high risk investments, before giving up her many NASD licenses to become an artist and art educator in 1993. Since then, Karen has enjoyed putting her Fine Art degree from USF in Tampa, FL that she received in 1978 to use, teaching ceramic sculpture, pottery, and art to kids & adults. "Ms. Sochar" has inspired many students over the past 30 years as they are educated about numerous fine art masters and inspired to explore new and different art materials and mediums, including up-cycling with found objects. Ms. Sochar feels that "creating anything" allows for the development of one's self-esteem and self-confidence.
