My painting focuses on the blending of contemporary anxiety with ancient myth and Jungian archetypes. It explores the distortions in the vocabulary of classical representational narratives when introduced to XXI century anxieties. My influences include Early Renaissance, Symbolism, Neue Sachlichkeit, Surrealism, Leipzig School, writers such as Gene Wolfe, Thomas Ligotti, Hans Heinz Ewers, Mikhail Bulgakov or Leonid Andreyev or moviemakers such as Bergman, Tarkovsky or Kubrick.
