SELENA NAJAR

Selena Najar is a Mexican-American multidisciplinary artist proudly born and raised in Inglewood, California. Her art primarily focuses on her experience growing up in Inglewood as a child of immigrants from rural Mexico. Najar's work often features iconic Inglewood architecture, child-like drawings, and self-portraits. Her paintings, ceramics, and prints shed light on another perspective from Inglewood not shown in pop culture or media. She aims to inspire dialogue, empathy, and critical reflection on the evolving landscapes of culture and identity.

Najar has painted two murals for the Inglewood Unified School District and was a Getty Marrow Undergraduate Intern for ESMoA. Najar has an AA from El Camino College in Art and a BA in Studio Art from California State University Dominguez Hills.
