About the artist

Rosalyn Myles Found traces of history, recycled objects, film, fabric, wood, and text are used to construct structures and installations that dramatically reveal scenarios. I use various artistic practices to explore social, personal, and political issues erupting from the discourse of modern American culture. Repurposed wooden crates, recycled windows, and doors, are combined with fabric and paint to create separate installations that engage the viewer. No matter the medium being used, I am mining society's perpetual stories about women and our shared experiences as persons of color in the United States of America. I explore ignored concerns that plague our communities and the disenfranchised. As a contemporary artist, I am interested in exploring the significant conversations going on today in this new normal. How can we as a people move forward and find better ways of navigating the future?
