Jeff Miller

My artistic practice begins with an intuitive and visceral relationship to materials. I start by experimenting with what materials can do, and I watch where they take me. Eventually ideas coalesce around recurring formal motifs, e.g. circles, or recurring conceptual motifs, e.g. burial monuments. Hopefully the work speaks to what can’t be said, written, or logically comprehended, what lives in the spaces between one another, and between life and death.
