Ericka Chapman

Ericka pursued a more classical approach to her mastery of art….apprenticing for established artists, first in New York and then in Los Angeles, before settling into her Inglewood in the late 90’s. A second studio on Bainbridge Island has only reaffirmed what it is that concerns Ericka about art…unfamiliar geometries, lush color and, most importantly, imbuing the mundane with mystery. Indeed, Ericka’s oeuvre might best be described as meeting von Hardenberg’s challenge of “giving meaning to the commonplace, granting what is known the dignity of the unknown, and imparting to the finite the shimmer of the infinite”.

All are welcome to visit her Hyde Park studio. Margaritas will be served. Clothing optional.
